Himalayan Coffee Roast Guide
It is counter-intuitive, but the longer you roast coffee, the more caffeine is oxidized or burnt away from the beans. Therefore, the darker the roast, the lower the caffeine content. Here is a list of our coffee offerings based on their caffeine content.
Lowest Caffeine to Highest:
Turkish Roast, considered the darkest roast in the world, even less caffeine than espresso. (Try our 1 World Journey blend)
Italian Roast/Viennese Roast, a blackened bean arrives from this roast with a sought-after smokey finish and higher acidity (Try our Maoist blend.)
French Roast, a favorite, lower-caffeine alternative to most other roasts, it offers us a well-known depth and flavor (Try our 100% Nepal)
Espresso Roast, a shade lighter than dark roast, but usually blended with a med-dark r0ast making it equivelant to a dark roast’s caffeine content (Try our Kafmanbrew blend.)
Dark Roast, a dark brown colored bean that offers a good dose of caffeine, but low enough to drink two cups! (Try our Bamboo blend.)
Med-Dark Roast, often called “Full-city Roast” in coffee terms, it is a medium-dark roasted bean and has more caffeine than dark roasts. (Try our Milk blend.)
Medium Roast, a golden, medium brown color of bean, hence the name, with lots of caffeine. (Try our Sun Rock blend.)
Light Roast, also known as a “Finnish Roast” because the Finnish people prefer this highly caffeinated option. Light roasts have the most caffeine of any other style roast.
